She was born on November 27, 1936, in Brigham City, Utah to Thomas Harold Edmondsen Neil (RIN 80356) and Myrtle Chestina Christensen (RIN 80251). Thomas Harold Edmundson Neil was born on 30 April 1886, in Silsden, Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom to William James Neil (RIN XXX) and Ellen Grace Edmondsen (RIN XXX). She grew up in Utah and spent most of her life living in Centerville.  Mom was a gifted florist, who loved and knew everything about flowers.  Of course, she had a green thumb and cared for plants like they were her babies.

She married her sweetheart Loyd L. Tidwell (RIN 6938990) on September 18, 1953, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for time and eternity. Loyd was born on 13 December 1933 to Elmer Tidwell (1905-2001) (RIN XXX) and Minerva Jane Swett (1904-1986) RIN XXX), in Boneta Utah. Loyd died 10 November 2020 in Ogden Utah and is buried at the Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Odgen, Utah.

Gladys and Loyd enjoyed traveling with family and friends and remember many trips to Flaming Gorge and Yuma with them.  She also loved playing her piano, singing, crocheting, knitting, BINGO, and chocolate!  She loved to work in her yard and took great pride in growing a beautiful garden. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed many callings.  Some of her greatest memories were singing with the Harmonaires and singing with a regional choir in the Tabernacle at Temple Square.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, her father and mother, and 6 brothers and 6 sisters.  Survived by her son Lyn L. Tidwell (Jennifer) of Centerville, Utah, daughter Connie Tidwell White (David) of Syracuse, Utah, son Larry L. Tidwell of Gunsan, South Korea, and Layne Neil Tidwell Johnson (Robert Johnson) of Coral Gables, Florida.  She is also survived by granddaughters, Sherri Jamieson, Mindy Arnspiger , Staci Lambert , and grandsons Rusty Tidwell and Lonnie Tidwell, 16 sweet great grandkids, and 2 great-great grandkids.  She was lucky enough to find a sweet kitty (Rosie) to love and care for over the last few years.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a viewing on Monday June 5th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and on Tuesday June 6th from 9:45 – 10:45 am, followed by funeral services at 11:00 am at the Russon Mortuary on 295 North Main in Bountiful, Utah.  Interment will follow at the Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden.

The family would like to thank the administration and staff of the Fairfield Village of Layton and Inspiration Hospice for their care and concern of our mom, and our family during this difficult time for her.  Her caregivers were so special to her.
