Marlene, 69, of Genoa, Illinois, died 19 Apr 2001 in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was born Marlene Elizabeth Davis 13 Jul 1931 in Sycamore, [Illinois?] the daughter of Forrest and Eula (Gray) Davis. She married 15 Apr 1951 in Belvedere. She was a personnel manager for Northwestern Illinois Association in Sycamore for many years.
She was survived by two sons, five grandchildren and a great grandson.
She was a member and former Sunday School teacher at Faith United Methodist Church in Genoa. She was also a former Cub Scout Leader. She volunteered for many charitable organizations, including the United Way. Marlene’s husband is the son of Walter & Ruth Combest Barnes. From there, his line goes through Albert & Della McNutt Combest, Martha Smart McNutt, Allen T. Smart, Wiley & Temperance Taylor Smart, Joseph & Sarah Best Taylor.
