Walter died 5 April 2001 in Ogden, Utah at the age of 83. He was born 17 Jan 1918 in Ogden, a son of George C. and Eliza Evans Wessler.
Walter married 10 May 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. His spouse is a granddaughter of Heber “C” Taylor & Eliza Baird. Heber was a son of Joseph Taylor & Hannah Mariah Harris.
Walter served as a High Councilman, High Priest Group Leader, in three Bishoprics, and in the Young Men’s program.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. He received the Bronze Star.
Walter worked as a butcher for over 30 years. He and his wife owned and operated Walt’s Market for 20 of those years. After retiring, he worked as a custodian for the LDS Church. Walter was a member of the Utah Grocers Association.
Surviving are his wife, one son and one daughter, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchfldren. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery 9 Apr 2001.
