Sarah was born in Landing Idaho to Oswell and Millie Hess and had 11 brothers and sisters. She married George Liberty Stanger, grandson of George William Stanger & Sarah Ellen Knight, daughter of John Knight & Sarah Elizabeth Taylor, daughter of John Taylor & Eleanor Burkett. Sarah resided in North Las Vegas, Nevada until her husband, George’s death in 1997. Sarah then moved to Layton UT to live with her daughter and family. She spent three days a week at the Ogden LDS Temple. She loved children and spent her life as a homemaker, Child Care Center owner and foster parent to many children. Sarah and George opened their home to many people from around the world through exchange programs and developed lifelong friendships. She and her husband of over 57 years served in the London, England mission. She was famous for her baking, and also spent many evenings with her husband in square, round, and line dancing. She had a sharp sense of humor that kept those around her in stitches.
Sarah passed away 23 Oct 2000 in Layton UT. She had 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild at that time. Burial was 26 Oct 2000 beside her husband at the American Falls Idaho Cemetery.
