Royal was born 20 May 1914 and raised in Plain City, UT, the son of Ether Green Taylor and Gertrude Vause Taylor.
He married Margaret Geraldine (Jerry) Terry 18 Nov, 1935 in Farmington UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were the parents of 3 girls and one boy.
Jerry preceded Royal in death in 1979. Royal married Emma Anderson in the Ogden, LDS Temple on 28 Nov 1980.
Royal was a self-employed builder and was later employed by the Granite School District as an inspector of new schools. He was an active member and high priest in his church.
He died of congestive heart failure 12 Sep 2000 at his home in East Milcreek, Utah. He was survived by his four children, 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; 3 stepchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren. Burial was 16 Sep 2000 in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
