Lynn was born 16 Mar 1917 in Shelby County, Illinois to “Bert’ and Alta McNutt Hitchcock. Alta was daughter to James & Martha Smart McNutt. Martha was daughter to Allen T. and Hariet Burrus Smart and granddaughter to Wiley and Temperance Taylor Smart. Temperance was daughter to Joseph Jr & Sarah Best Taylor.
She met Cyrus (Cy) Austin and married in 1937. Cy and Lynn had two boys and one girl. They lived in various places in Illinois before the doctor told them Lynn had to leave the area and move to where the climate was better for her. They told them she wouldn’t see her 50th birthday if she didn’t. She lived to 83. They lived in Arivaca AZ for 22 years. Cy passed away in 1989. Since then Lynn has kept herself busy, attending an LDS Ward in Sahuarita, working on the board of the Human Resources, cooking for the “older people” and on the board of the Christian Center. She had 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and three more on the way when she passed away in 2000.
