Adam Cherry (1836-1927)

Adam Cherry was born 16 October 1836, near Richardsville, Warren, Kentucky. He married (1) 16 September 1858, Sarah Catherine Miller, at Warren County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Dolphin Miller and Elizabeth Miller, born 1842. She was the mother of three children: Luther Johnson, Dr. Elijah Allen (E. A.) and William C. Cherry. (Note: Dr. E. A. Cherry was a skilled medical doctor who practiced medicine at Morgantown, Butler, Kentucky. He attended the 1909 Taylor Reunion and said he was residing at Millshed, Kentucky at the time.) Sarah C. died 1 August 1866, near Richardsville. She was buried at the Green River Union Cemetery, Warren, Kentucky.

Adam Cherry married (2) 3 January 1867, Martha Jane Goode, at Warren, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Samuel Venable Goode and Elizabeth Ann Taylor, his 1st Cousin, once removed. They had ten children together: Samuel C., Mary Catherine, Robert Aaron, henrietta “Retta”, Sallie Elizabeth “Lizzie”, Ellen Dora, Nellie Cora, Allie, Jesse and Ottie Belle. Martha Jane Goode died 18 July 1888, near Richardsville, Warren, Kentucky.

Adam married (3) 16 September 1888, Clara Dunn Palmer, at Warren County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Harrison Dunn and Elizabeth Lindsey, and was born 14 March 1849, at Warren County, Kentucky. She apparently had been married before to a Mr. Palmer. Adam and Clara apparently had no children together.

Adam Cherry was present at the 1909 Taylor Reunion at Richardsville, Warren, Kentucky.

Clara died 4 February 1935, near Richardsville, Warren, Kentucky and was buried at the Fairview Cemetery, Bowling Green, Warren, Kentucky. Adam died 2 May 1927, near Richardsville, Warren, Kentucky. He was also buried at the Fairview Cemetery, Bowling Green, Warren, Kentucky.
