
Blanche was born Jan. 26, 1910 at Stavely, Alberta, Canada, to Thomas and Mary Jane Hiatt Stanford. The family moved to Enterprise in 1916 and in the spring of 1917 moved to Milton, Oregon. [Milton-Freewater were separate towns at this time.]
During her younger years, Blanche worked at the fruit packing plants in the Milton area and worked in the citrus fruit plants in California during the winter. She also did seasonal work at Rogers Cannery, Umatilla Cannery, and Watermill Foods before her retirement.
Oliver Sims Clark was born 29 April 1904 at Weston, Oregon. He and Blanche were married on Aug. 25, 1950 at Walla Walla [WA]. He died 14 September 1983.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in various church positions including those of Sunday School teacher, primary president, and Relief Society Homemaking leader.
She died Tuesday, May 18, 1993, at her home at the age of 83. She was survived by one daughter and stepson. Her vault interment was at the Milton-Freewater Cemetery.
