Reverend William Irven Taylor, born 2 March 1854, near Richardsville, Warren, Kentucky, was a Methodist Minister. He married on 16 August 1882, Gertrude Earl Temple, at Bowling Green, Warren, Kentucky. She was born 24 June 1860 at Todd County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of William Montgomery Temple and Mary Ellen Ennis. We know that Reverend Taylor was instrumental in setting up the Taylor Family Reunion in October 1909 at Richardsville, Warren, Kentucky. He had a great love for all of his family.

He and Gertrude had four children: Gilbert Hawthorne, William Temple, George (who died the day he was born), and Mary Elizabeth Taylor.

Reverend Taylor was always proud of his children, especially that all were graduates of DePauw University, Indiana. He also had graduated in literature from DePauw University and afterward entered into the ministry in the Methodist Episcopal Church. He had a very keen mind, a trait that was passed on to his children.

Reverend William Irven Taylor died 31 December 1934, at the Jamison Hospital in New Castle, Lawrence, Pennsylvania. Gertrude E. died 12 January 1929, at New Wilmington, Lawrence, Pennsylvania. They were both buried at the Neshannock Cemetery, New Wilmington, Lawrence, Pennsylvania.
